Default Remote Fob Replacement

I purchased 2 of these for $57.50 delivered, and am super impressed.

If you are in need, go nuts.

I got one a few weeks ago. The only problem I had was programming it to unlock ALL doors

Thumbs up Re: Remote Fob Replacement

Just put in a bid for a couple. The car is going soon to my neighbours but the remotes will be good for them, considering the ones I have now are getting harder and harder to use, despite many, many refurbish operations! LOL!

Thanks for the heads up.

No, have to press unlock twice. I can get it to work on the original. Hold down unlock then lock and wait 4sec till the lights flash again but not the new one.

G'day,
thought about getting the round type key for the BA, only $19, but local locksmiths here reckon that they can't handle the job..... :(
cheers,

So they should be able to be programmed to open all doors with a single button push?

On the one I got you press one button and the LED flashes, you press the other at the same time and the LED stops.

Bought one of these here in NZ on trademe, as mentioned above works fine other than cant unlock all doors on one unlock button push and wont accept programme of pressing both buttons at once. Opened it up and its got a totally different PCB from the genuine ford one, so not sure how "genuine" it really is. Am sending it back to the seller for a credit as its frustrating going to a back door to find its still locked.
If your happy to press the unlock twice when unlocking it then it seems fine.

I got one. No all door unlock option.

Two clicks is easy enough. For the price I can't complain.

Thanks very much for this thread, MNM96. Appreciated.

Just what I need ... BUT... I don't have a remote now, all I have is one only cut key - it may not be an original, in fact I doubt that it is OEM.

I notice in the following video, 'Ford Remote Key Fob Programming Instructions - How to ', that you have to press a button on the existing remote (which I don't have). Would I just press the door button instead?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG3R58-24QU

and this video offers some warnings...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pr6fyKL83AQ

I was quoted $90+ for a new key with remote!

SWMBO recently had a spare done for the Celica, Toyota charged about $160 for the combined key/remote blank and another $60 to programme it - we got it cut at the local locksmith for $10, Toyota wanted another $30-40 for that

So, it looks like Henry is not too bad after all......

cheers,
Bob

Confirmed. New remotes aren't capable of unlocking all doors for one button press.
Considering the sub $30 price it isnt much of an issue for me anyway. Bit more piece of mind when the bride finishes late.
Its still easier than putting key in the door, open door, lean over wheel to press unlock button on the dash.
I too have a box full of busted remotes.

You don't have to do this in my AU2 ... only need to depress the door lock button on the driver's door and all other doors unlock. I discovered this quite by accident.
