What is that? 2018 Hyundai Veloster and HSV turns to doing up Hyundais as Hyundai Special Vehicles to keep the H in HSV?

Looks like the Photoshop artist grabbed a heap of other car bits and pieces and slapped them together.

From the rear looks like a VF HSV GTS that's been run over by a steamroller.

It just looks like an artists impression with GTS wheels and brakes to sell magazines.

It will be cool seeing Corvettes or Camaro's sold here though.

Read the article yesterday and is purely speculation. It's based off an Opel Igsignia.

So AWD, and then they would have to champion the drive train themselves? Pie in the sky.

Pity it looks nice.

I think that HSV will be stockpiling additional Commodore chases from Holden before production ends. This way HSV will be in the position to continue selling their model line-up for at least another year before transition to an all new model is complete. Remember that unlike Ford, Holden and HSV engines are Euro 5 compliant so there is no statutory legal deadline to phasing the cars out.

HSV also has the opportunity of offering Factory Upgrade kits for owners of earlier Gen F and E serries cars with the latest kit available in 2018. This is something that has been successfully done by Nissan with their GTR cars in the past. Owners could buy latest engine / suspension / brake / aero / etc. upgrades that can be easily retro-fitted into some of the earlier vehicles all done by the Factory with corresponding warrantee.

Lastly I think it’s too early to talk about the next HSV models as we are still a few years away! HSV does have a number of overseas market models (USA, Korea, Europe) which they can tap into. HSV may also be directly working with the local Holden engineers on customising the imported Holden models for the Australian market and selling them as the upper tier cars (similar to AMG inspired, or M tuned).

Either way I think HSV has plenty of options and venues to consider, and there is plenty of time to get everything ready.

They'd honestly be better off just bringing in the Cadillac CTS and ATS. Not sure if they are able to be built in RHD these days though.

Future HSV's will be Opal Insignia based. Can't see HSV V8 buyers flocking to it at all.

One part of our car culture.
People talk about hot hatches and Jap cars... so why not this..
Those Cadillacs look rather tempting.

HSV reckon they will continue tarting up the "Commodore" ie. Opal Insignia with a badge change.

WOFTAM I think. No V8, no ute, no RWD, no HSV.

Notice that the article is penned by our favourite Holden employee, sorry journalist, Josh Dowling.

Enough said!

If they are not going to be RWD or at least AWD, HSV might as well pack up shop. I would not say no to one of those Caddies.

Caddies would be expensive. Definitely a price point well above the Commodore.

They might be AWD but will your average HSV buying bogan want a car that can't even spin the wheels?

Well if you compare the price difference of the mustangs to be sold here, the caddies will be well over 100k aus. Interesting times ahead.
