Default Motoring Scientists Report Dangerous New Strain of Equine Flu

Motoring Scientists Report Dangerous New Strain of Equine Flu

Reports are coming in from Queensland and New South Wales of a dangerous new strain of the equine influenza virus which has spread to motor vehicles in both States and has the potential to seriously reduce horsepower.

Noted motoring scientist and atheist Godfrey Zohn said yesterday that the new V8 strain of the virus has motorists extremely concerned, and there does not seem to be a cure. The virus is believed to have come into Australia in a shipping container full of infected Mustangs from the USA which unloaded in Sydney last week, and has quickly spread up the East Coast.

Owners of infected vehicles will notice their cars coughing and missing at idle, especially in the early mornings, along with a substantial reduction in horsepower and a smoky discharge from the tailpipes. Anyone noticing these symptoms should take a sample of engine oil and send it to the lab to have the presence of the virus confirmed.

The virus spreads without warning, affecting 80% of Holden V8's and some older Fords. Vehicle owners who do not wish to have their cars infected should avoid service stations, swapmeets, car shows, traffic jams and any other places where large numbers of cars accumulate.

A spokesman from AVESCO confirmed late yesterday that the impact of the virus had extended to some V8 Supercar stables, and that the next few rounds of the V8's, including Bathurst, may be cancelled if the epidemic cannot be controlled. He stated "the potential impact of this virus on our motorsport cannot be underestimated - especially with some of these vehicles pushing out over 600 horsepower!"

Investigations are continuing into this deadly epidemic...send this to at least 10 people or your V8 will turn into a diesel Gemini.
