Okay, so if you were in the market for a new Focus, what would you get, and why?
NOS Zetec 2.0L manual, or the new Duratec 2.0L CL? I'm more talking about performance, economy, handling etc opposed to aesthetics. And would it be worth paying a premium on the new model? Thanks guys

To be honest if you want performance Id go the Duratec. As yuo may have already read, Im actually having a bit of trouble getting the Zetec engine (i.e. NOS cars) to really move. But if you dont mind spending a few $$ in the way of mods, you should be ok with it.
Personally I feel the LR model looks better than the new LS, but thats a matter of choice and personal opinion. If it were me Id go the NOS Zetec and spend a few dollars on it, mainly because I like the look better, I would never buy the first issues of a new model (i.e. new LS isnt even out yet), and it's cheaper, althogh for a Zetec you might not have much of a margin between old and new.

I'd wait to drive the new one, it's hard to refuse as a daily driver, but in seat of the pants, the MkI is unbeatable for handling and as a modded hatch. Stock MkII or modded MkI, I'd go the Mk I. However if the budget could stretch to a modded Mk II there's no competition.
