As far as I know EB Gli's don't have a digital dash, and I'm pretty sure it won't work on the EA and EB High series digital dash.

Gives you more accurate information for testing purposes i.e. your exact speed instead of just looking at the speedo and hoping its correct.

Temperatures etc can also be handy in fault finding or looking for issues with your car.

The modes listed here are what Ford mechs use when servicing your car.

: thats the unfortunate bit about it - it does revert back to normal mode after a while and it does scare you! its perfectly safe though, you wont lose control or anything when it happens. you might just ruin a good pair of pants.

Some people claim they can make their car stay in the mode indefinitely but in my EF it would only ever last 15 mins max.

The diagnostic mode is just a function of the EF/L instrument cluster. So regardless of if you have EEC-IV or EEC-V in your EA-ED there is nothing you can view unless you have an EF/L instrument cluster.

All you do is hold in the odometer while its off, then turn the ignition on, and depress it 3 times and hold it on on the third time and wait for the seat belt light to go off
the odometer should then go blank indicating its in diagnostic mode, just hit the button and it will change what indication it is on.

to turn it off, just hold the odometer reset in and it will go back after a few seconds

Well you are just prolonging how u do it, it doesnt need to take that long to do. You musn't be doing it correctly, because on every single EF/L i have done it on, it has worked that way, and everyone else I know does it that way, so I would say you would be the exception rather than the rule
