Unhappy BA 4.0L in Series 1 EF

Fully rebuilding EF and debating over engine rebuild. Have considered the JMM DEV5a kit but also have the opportunity of getting a motor, gearbox and all bits from a wrecked BA. Does anyone know of any engine swaps and what needs to be changed to fit the BA 4.0L. Have heard that crossmember is an issue but have seen several cars in Magazines with the transplant done. If successful will add Vortech supercharger to aim at 300kw.

do a search on these forums for 'jetxr' , you will answer most of your questions as to fitting the BA 4.0L

yeah i have a few articales on that jetxr here at home in strreet machine and performance fords... that thing is nuts... theres a lot of mods, probably the most obvious one to the outside world is you won't be able to close your bonnet with the BA engine in it... the jetxr had a hole cut in the bonnet, but the way it was done it looked awesome...

JETXR is also not engineered certified, nor has it been registered due to this fact.

does installing a later model engine require engineering?
the turbo install is fine since it was standard on the engine, but i'm not sure what the legalities are with the later model 4.0 being installed.
either way, theres plenty of other things not legal on that car so i doubt they care :P

Any engine that will yeild a 20% increase in power (over the most powerful available for your model) requires by law to be engineerd...
