Default el xr6 dash suround

hi all ,ive found 3 screws upper and two screws lower holding the platic dash suround in,but over by the stereo side its very tight like there are more screws but damned if i can find them,im tryin to get to a very annoying rattle that seams to be comming from directly behind the air con controller.any advise will be helpfull thnx in advance.

Take the ashtray out, then there is a large screw to the right of the now empty ashtray openeing.

Then you can remove the radio surround, behind which there are two more screws to take out the plastic surround. Be careful to unplug all plugs before you pull it too far off.

You installing a head unit?

thanx for that pully,ive got a rattle comming from the centre dash area and its destroying my driving pleasure,im praying i will find it with the surround off cause i aint got the bottle for a dash out drama,cheers again

No worries mate. Rattles suck in these cars, and they're a bastard to find, not that you wanna hear it...

Have you had it lowered? That causes rattles a lot of the time. I've got the really harsh metal-on-metal squeak that sets my teeth on edge. It crops up occasionally, but I can never find it. Gives me the s!

Try tightening up every screw you can lay your hands on.... or just turn the stezz up a bit.
