Default Simmons on DC LTD

well after running the DC at the drags and discovering 205/15's dont provide optimum traction i splashed out on a set of 16" 2nd hand simmons.

they needed a polish and a repaint...

LHS is as i got them, RHS is finished

currently running near new 225s all around. I really need bigger on the rear however. has anyone investigated getting new lips for the simmons to make them wider? i was thinking i could get a new outer section for the rears to give them a bit more dish and take them out to 8" or 8.5". they're currently 7". i figure when the 225s are shagged ill get something a bit wider.

looks nice barry. id say you'd be able to buy a bigger outter dish from simmons considering they are 3piece. i liked them more when they were white. but still they make the car look alot better. good job mate.

i wasnt going to change the wheels, but i took it out to AIR and the 205s bagged till half track... i had to idle off the line :( the LTD rims are only 6.5" unfortunatly.

8.5" + 255/16's. The rims should be easy, however try and find wide 16's for under the cost of a liver.

Looks great Barry, just use some decent 225 tyres and you shouldn't have traction issues, would hate to know what a set of wider outers would cost.

Looks good Barry. Traction should be a bit easier to come by with them.
