Default mirror face replacement

hey guys, i did a quick search for this but couldn't find anything.

Can anyone give me some instructions on how to put the mirror face back into the housing? Mine came out last night after a bit of a knock on the back of the housing. Didnt break anything as far as i can tell.

help would be greatly appreciated, as i cant figure it out. It looks like it just pushes on. Is there a certain way the mirror has to be facing? They're electric so its hard to tell where they are facing.

Thanks,

I generally find that if you feed one edge into the holder and gently prise the edges back with a very flat object that you can get the plastic backing to seat over the mirror glass again. If it came out from a gentle knock may I suggest placing a little tarzans grip or similar on the rear of the miror first.

oh, the mirror is still in its holder. the holder bit has popped out of the housing. So ive got the mirror, in its holder, with two pokey things coming off the, and a socket joint on the back. That has to press into the mirror housing, which has the ball joint, and a place for the two pokey bits to press into.

I just cant get it in there thats all... It has to go into the part that actually moves the mirror around.

thanks anyway though.

Hmm I don't like your chances on successfully putting it back in mate.

I'm not sure about the mirror face itself, but if anything else buggers up in those mirrors, you have to buy a whole new one. I had an electric mirror that wouldn't move left/right, due to a broken band (which I could see but couldn't fix), and had to buy a whole new mirror. Bugger!
