Default NO Premuim or Ultimate98 in WA 4 5 weeks

Hi Everyone

Don't know if this is common knowledge yet as I've just got home and not seen the news.

The BP refinery have had a failure at the Kwinana Refinery and they cannot produce Premium or Ultimate98 fuel. First estimate is that we may not have these fuels for up to 5 weeks.

As BP supplies Shell and Caltex these stations will run dry as well.

Some stations are already dry or running low

if thats the case, i guess the only thing to do is to use some fuel adative, but which one would be worth its weight in gold.
i haved used slick50, pricey but kept the cumbustion/valve area smooth and clean.
no dramas, felt the difference after 150-200kms driving.

Caltex Refinery at Kurnell produces Hi-Octane fuels for the East, so you guys are fine.

My tip: Buy a dunga. Buy a dodgy old XF or something. Put crap fuel in it, give it a hiding until the fuel comes back, than go back to the BA.

Morning folks,

Saturday's West reported only two weeks or a tad longer.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Cheers,

SS,

It took me 4 BP's before I found one with any Ultimate left this morning, funny thing was the bloke in the 350Z following me was doing the same. I got some from BP South Perth, but they do not know when they will be getting their next load.

cheers

Peter

I wouldn't believe the news too much...they quoted that the break down happened nearly two weeks ago. This is wrong with the secondary processing plant having to be taken off-line on Monday this week.

The feeling is that it will be around two-three weeks before the plant is up and running again. There will then be a few weeks delay in getting stocks etc back up to regular levels.

Union trouble at the site isn't helping matters either.

No Mobil fuel here...it's all BP except for the Indonesian fuel imported by some of the budget stations. Shell etc all buy from BP.

Since I have a stock 03 BA wagon, I could've just used standard ULP, but I've been using Shell PULP, no probs. Mind you, I tried Woolies Vortex PULP once, and the car didn't like it - started to run a bit rough, don't know why...
