I ahve just cut my springs in the rear to get a look at what height i want the car at. Its sitting where i want it but the tail shaft has been just touching on the floor(a no no) when i have hit a big bump. I am almost sitting on the bump stops on the shocks also. I was going to replace the rear shocks with KING super lows but i was wondering if this still happens with them???
I am just replacing my munro shocks with Koni yellows which should make it a little better. Also what spring rates are people using with their super lows. Thanks heaps, David |

With king superlows and alloy tailshaft its very close but doesnt hit. You have a little more room with steel shaft
|

We have King SSL Springs with Pedders sports shocks. To date i dont recall any issues
with the tail shaft Cheers

take the tail shaft off n get a nice big hammer lol
that will do the trick

I was thinking about a hammer. Actually i was thinking moe along the lines of a portapower and jack it up a little, but wanted to know if i had to once i have my new springs. I have an alloy tail shaft so it would seem that means less room also.

You can also just pack a few washers to lower the gearbox crossmember a few mm.

You cut your springs???? What were you thinking? It is illegal BTW!
 :The tailshaft hitting the floor is very dangerous. You will distroy your universals and potentially cause serious damage to you and your car when it lets go. : I think you should leave some job's to the professionals.  : If a job is being done do it right!

I am more than capable, you have no need to worry there. I am aware of what problems can arise fromt he tail shaft hitting the floor, hence why i asked the question if others had had this problem with King Super Lows.(which is what i am looking at getting)
It is very tempory so i can sort out things like this, what would the point be if i went a bought brand new springs just to find out its at the wrong height or run into other problems like this one????? |
