Hey guys,
I just got myself an 1993 EB S2 GLi falcon on the weekend. Unfortunatly, it's an auto, but other than that, everything seems to be in great nic. Now as it just so happens, one of my mates crashed his 96 EF he was doing up into a tree (luckly for him he hadn't got very far). It's not bothering to fix it because he bent the chassis. But he has said I can take whatever I want from it. He is a mechanic, so we can pretty much take anything we want and put it into my EB. So far I am taking, his sports exhust system, rear spoiler, gear box (auto), brake pads, a few buttons with are in better condition in his than mine. Now, what else should I take from it. His dash has a taco, mine doesn't so it'd be nice it we could switch those, but dunno if thats possible. And his steering wheel has an airbag, which would be great if we could put the wheel and airbag in mine. But no idea about how that would work, or even if it would (any ideas?) Other than that, anything that adds performance, looks, reliablity, and anything that is known to need replacing in EBs (Mine is at 230,000k, but has been reasonbly well looked after. And don't really know of any problems other that Crusie Control, which his doesn't have). You guys are the experts of e series fords, so I am sure you guys could give me some great ideas what to salvage from his poor car. Thanks in advance guys. |

If your really keen, you can convert absolutely everything over from an EF into an EB.
This is the interior in my EA. Should give you an idea of what's possible ;)

What would be involved in mounting the EA Dash with tacho?
Are the wires already there for a tacho and just not hooked up on my EB, or will we have to run wires and the like? Also mounting a steering wheel with airbag, how the heck does that work? Where is the sensor located to know when to release the airbag? Do i need to somehow take it out of the EF and drop it in the EB along with the steering wheel? I was thinking about taking the engine, but mine is running fine, and his has an extra 50,000km. Might keep in the garage and do it once my motors done some/many more k's? Or if anything s up the the motor. But although the extra power would be great, just not sure it'd be worth it. Does anyone know if the exhust system is the same for the EF and EB? Or are we going to have to do a lot of mucking round? Thanks guys. |

you can't just change the s/wheel over & plus the airbag in - the steerin column etc are all different, so it'd be a bit of work - best to change the entire interior over - cluster/dash/seats everything!
maybe don't grab the engine, but chuck the BBM onto yours ;) easy enough mod, and was one of the bigger differences between the engines anyways. also the boot spoiler isn't a bolt-on job (AFAIK) onto your EB as the boot dimensions are different - can be done, but not as simple as might be hoped!
