Default Got a new car!

Hey guys, well I finally picked up a car from the auctions yesterday....and guess what? It's a FORD lol!

I was swaying towards getting a VY Commodore wagon then I thought that since it's a work car I really didn't want to spend that much and was going to settle for a VT or VX instead. But after arriving at the auctions yesterday the two VT's and VX that were there were absoloute rubbish and the two VY's that were there went for rediculously high prices considering they were both Exec's.

There wasn't a great deal of ex-gov cars there as it was mainly a clearing auction or 'family day'. I'd almost lost hope of getting a car when a white BA XT with 138000k's on it rolled into the lanes. We hadn't really even looked at this car cause we'd been looking at Commodores all day but Sunny reckoned it was worth a shot and bid on my behalf (I had no idea). We ended up getting it for a good price.

Anyway here's a pic after we gave it a good outside clean, the interior pic is as it was from the auctions minus the drink cans lol.

It's got all the usual XT features -dual airbags, A/C, CD player, remote locking, elec drivers seat, cruise control, power steer, tiptronic auto and a cargo barrier :hihi: Gotta get rego and a RWC but I was driving it round today with a permit and it's a very comfortable car to cruise in.

I want to get a new front bar as the one that's on it is scratched up and loose (the previous owner has hit something cause the numberplate was bent). Its also missing a hubcap ;) As for mods, I'm still thinking what I want to do lol.

Nice buy Doug! The adaptive shift feature is fun isn't it? I've been driving dads BF wagon around a bit over christmas and I've got to admit they're very nice to drive. So quiet and smooth. You'll have to bring it around sometime soon and give us a look mate ;)

Nice Doug! I'm glad you ended up in a Falcon. GT front bar, bulge, massive turbo, dumped, 19s. Sweet.

Good luck with it, i'm sure it will be a very reliable comfortable car for many years to come.

Good work, not an E-series Wagon but its a Wagon. Thats what counts. Any mods planned? (ie. turn it into a BA XR6 Turbo Wagon).

TUFED6, yeah that car is mint.....that's one of the nicest BA's I've seen. I already seached all his posts looking for pics lol. That's exactly what I'd want mine to look like except I'd also colour code the black side strip, get chrome mirror covers and some driving lights ;)

Well as of today I got a roadworthy and registered it. Got some slimline plates. Tonight I did my first mod....here's a pic

I just need a FM modulator so I can have sound through the stock headunit. Hopefully I'll find one tomorrow at Strathfield or something.

Nice one mate! The mod potential for BAs is huge. It will be nice being able to get pretty much whatever wheels you want in the right offset.

Nice ride! I've driven a BA wagon a number of times and they are great to drive! Make the EA feel like a dinosaur! My only complaint about the BA was the cramped pedal layout.

Doug, don't think you will need an FM modulator. Ford sells a part that gives you a line-in on the factory HU.

Yes only the premium sound has the Line in feature under the headunit when you take the centre dash inserts out.

Doug I should still have a modulator lying around. Ill look.

Oh and damn that screen looks familiar :P Vision or Directed Electronics?
