Does Steve have a car?

Well it's been a while but finally I got the supercharger installed and running (even tho i busted it 2 days later :P)
Here's a few snapshots courtesy of the goodz. As you can see i've been driving around VL stylz without a front bar simply for a bit of **** factor. I don't have any pics of the car with the front bar on but the cooler is very well hidden, and barely any cutting was needed. Some of you may not know that I opted to run straught gas simply for legal purposes. You might not notice in the pics but it's actually running twin converters, one ontop of the other, which they tell me will be good for a 400rwhp+ setup. Now there's a few little things i need to change as whilst it is a 9spi kit, i am only getting around 5.5 pound boost at the manifold. Currentlly it's making 167.6rwkw, so once i get the intake flowing properly i should be getting close to the 200rwkw mark. First up i will need to get rid of the pathetic intake before the blower, as this i believe is a big restriction to airflow. I will be getting a 3 inch pipe made up to go down through the gaurd to access some colder air. Also, i may look at getting a better flowing cooler, as currently it's just a cheapo off ebay, depending of course on how much the cold air intake will free up airflow. After that, i will look at getting possibly an aftermarket piggy back ecu such as a haltech to control my timing, otherwise i will haveto settle for a chiptorque or similar. Anyways, forgive me if my replies are a little delayed as i don;t have direct access to the net, but i will try my best to be here every few days And also thanx to swift automotive for the superb job they did on my car |

Sweet... The set up looks bloody awsome mate. Did you need to get an engineers cert or anything for it?

Would it be possible that the supercharger provides 9 psi into the standard engine? With your head work and added piping it might drop it a little?
Good luck getting it fixed, you have to take me for a spin when its done!

Very nice work mate. I hadnt noticed you round the traps for a while so i assuemed something was in process. LPG was to satisfy EPA/engineer was it? Very neat piping and black makes a nice change to pollished alloy every man and his dog has under their aarrfertyfree.

Sweet! Do you have a pic from the dyno day with the other bar on? Be careful not to drive by the police without a bar on.

Walkinshaw - Yes the straight LPG was done exactly for that reason. I was origionally gunna have the intake piping HPC coated for that polished look, but once i got the car back with all the black piping i changed my mind. If anything i will enquire about black HPC, or maybe just get them coated than respray it black again.
Yagz - No i haven't found the time yet to fit them, and prolly wont for atleast the next week or two. Kenaz - The first day was sh!t as it was raining heavily so we couldn't get a feel of what the car could really do. The next day was alot better and it certainly had some balls once it came on boost, but by half the day it already busted the belt :( Thanx for the positive comments guys. The front bar is back on as i only had it off for a day or two for some fun. Dave and I dropped the car off to get the new intake pipe made up, and from what Mark at dynomotive tells me, i should see an extra 2-3pounds just from that, which certainly makes it a worthwhile mod . I'll keep you's all posted on how it goes anyway |

The rex bar looks unreal in the flesh, and the intercooler behind there just seems to set it off...
There could be some ride height issues though :P |

looks awesome steve! im jealous ;) Dave was telling me a bit about the dramas with the boost drop...hopefully that pipe will get it all sorted. Are you running any kind of ECU chip at the moment or is it just stock?

no chip atm, as it's running straight gas, so it wasn't required for fueling.
I beleive steve will be getting some kind of chip or computer to control the timing, though ;) |
