Default t5 question....

hey all...

recently it has been hard to get it out of reverse... easy to get in and all other gears are perfect, just when you in reverse you have to give it a fair whack to get it out.. sometimes worse than others..

any ideas?

There's a nut on the firewall you can access in the engine bay.

ok, just a little more info would be great. which way do i turn it and how much and so forth. normally i'd refer to the workshop manual and not ask all the questions, but the volume on transmission was another 120 bucks.

You need to turn the nut so that it pulls the cable further away from the firewall. Hvae a look at the thread / put a texta mark on the thread and see what way it turns..

it takes all of 2seconds seriously.. pull the cable back about 2cm and then turn the nut clock wise or anti clockwise till whatever you feel is right..

I have never known for an out of adjustment clutch cable being the cause of a trans being difficult to take out of gear. Normally it is the cause when it doesn't go into 1st or reverse.

i rekon if its just reverse you got another issue=\
try adjusting it a bit, you wana turn it towards the engine bock
giv it a go

see how ya go but it might be internal gearbox if all other gears are fine..

i dont think it is the clutch cable either. Mine will slip out of gear without using the clutch at all
