Default Need Help Fast. Missing Engine number!

Hi Everyone,

Just bought a 1998 GLi and now looking for the engine block number. I also have an EB and looked in the same spot. (On the drivers side down behind the power steering pump.) I have cleaned the area and no trace of any numbers. Have the numbers been moved elsewhere? Please reply ASAP.

Many
Thanks, Bob
