Default A bit of good fortune (and a question).

I thought I would post about a bit of a bargain I scored on Friday. I bought 4 Goodyear Eagle F1's (235/45ZR17) for $700. Hows that! What do they retail for? I was buying on behalf of a friend though, as I don't have 17's on the old girl.

As a hypothetical, what do you guys think of 300ZX stock 16" rims. A work colleague has a set on hand with tyres and I was thinking of whacking them on the XF for a laugh (offset issues aside)?

cant really say what GoodYear Eagles are worth but $175 a tyre for 17' is what i was paying in 2002. that was Kumho Ecsta as well. before i got rid of the car in late 03, the cheapest i could get was $165 a tyre.
i know someone who just bought remould 17' for $110 each. (not something i would do myself though).

The tyres were brand spankers. Good stuff I suppose.

I think you probably did OK. I bought a set of those about three years ago for my AU and I think they retailed for around $250 each. At the time they won the "Motor performance tyre of the year" comparo. The ones I bought were German made. They had phenomenal grip in the wet but the trade off was they wore out in 25,000 km (normal driving).

they are definately over 200 per tyre and are on many performance oriented cars as standard.

I bought 4 x Goodyear SP3000a 235/45/17 for $500 - Brand Spanking NEW

You can get these good deals as Goodyear give a set of 4 Tyres to some of their employees each year or something and then the employees sell them to make some extra cash........

Seeing as you got them twice that would be $1200.00. :
