If you come to Oz settle in Queensland. Our states car mod laws are pretty good and best of all no yearly inspections. Aside from all that its the best place in Australia to live. It is one of the fastest growing areas in the western world and the fastest growing in Australia.

Come to Adelaide! Housing is relatively cheap and you dont need yearly inspections either. Can you bring a '67 Chevelle with you if you come down :eclipsee_

Housing is pretty expensive in Sydney; Melbourne and Brisbane is not too bad, Adelaide and Perth fairly cheap.

Someone explained in another thread, Unlike the US that has heaps of citys, In Australia these are the only 5 main ones. There is more demand around the city for land/housing.

If u want to go back to college, come over here as an international student, any uni will take u! But will come down to money, pretty expensive. Not hard to find work if ur willing to do it! Greatest country on earth Australia! yearly inspections that'd suck! no such thing in melbourne!

I think the renting prices in order from most to least is:
Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart

If you come to melbourne be prepared for hot and sunny one day(like yesterday) then cold and wet the next(like today)

there's bugger all difference in housing between melbourne and sydney - shawn if you want a state with lenient regulations don't come to vic, we've recently had pretty strict "hoon" laws passed here, where you can have your car confiscated for simply losing traction! I believe other states have also inplemented this law. I hear WA (perth) is pretty lax on their regulations. Beautiful place too.

Welcome to the forums.

NSW has yearly car inspections, but they are fairly rudementary. They just check safety items like seats, belts, lights, tyres, brakes, leaks etc.

Brisbane (Queensland) is becoming an Aviation hub we have Boeing and Qantas has a jet base here. There are a number of smaller Aviation work shops as well. I believe Tasman Aviation just won the F111 Engine overhaul work which includes a machine shop as well.

With an Aviation background you wont have any trouble getting a job in Brisbane.

Can we add a poll to this for the guy...

The question would be... Where would you live in Oz if you had a choice? leave the choices to the main cites because of his aviation background

Welcome dude. If you come to Australia and the premier of Victoria is still someone by the name Bracks, DO NOT settle in Melbourne. I love Melbourne but I am seriously looking to move away from here. I think I'll take my bat and ball and move to Hobart.

Unemployment rate in Australia is very low
If you have skills you can find a job in any city at the moment
If you move to WA then you can go work up north on the mines and earn an absolute shitload

Welcome to the forums and if you can't come down here at least get a nice FPV sent up there!

Yeah might be the place to be, but we are all going to go pretty thirsty soon _2:

Welcome to the forums Shawn.. hope you are enjoying your time looking around.
You would be far better to save up and then do a tour around the country before deciding on moving here... Have a look at each major city and work out if it is a place you could truly live..

I can't see why you wouldn't want to live here in our great land but then again the bias is pretty strong :evil_laug

Perth is getting pretty expensive these days with the recent housing boom and all. But that said... It's a great place to live - not to crowded or anything.
