Default How to check your engine sensors in your car???

Hi,
I'm having a problem with my XH XR6 1996 ute and I've check just about everything and can't seem to find a fault anywhere.

I was just curious if anyone knew how to check your sensors with the computer. I know there is a way to do it, but I don't know how. Does anyone out there have a diagram or info. into how to do this???

Yeah, well it mainly does it when its cold but it also sometime just it when its warm too. I'll start my car in the morning or whatever and start to drive down the road and I'll go to pull out of my street and the car feels like its not getting enough air or fuel or something. If runs like crap for about 5secs and then its fine.. It will also do it when I'm just going along the highway, I'll put my foot down and little and it just does responed straight away. It does just do it when I"m giving it some, it will do it sometimes when I"m sitting on 70 or whatever and also do it when in idle. I have check everything. I have tried different injectors, fuel pump, filter. I'm now just guessing it may just be a sensor. So I'd like to see if I can check to see if any are faulty.

Buy a haynes manual. They are worth $1000, but cost $30.
Fault codes, checking sensors, even making the test light is covered.

I'd be looking more at the ingnition side of things.

Hi can't seem to find were my STI out plug is located. I thought that it might be right near the computer but there isn't a spare plug there to tap into. Does anyone know where it might be. I have a xh xr6 ute 1996.

it should be under the dash on the right hand side of the steering wheel under the fuse box.

Well, I have figured out the problem with my car thank God. It was the oxygen sensor all along. Making my car run like crap when it was cold and sometime when its warm. I had been racking my brain for about a week and a half now. Thanks for everyone's help on the issue.
