Default Something new from FoMoCo?

I'm still not sure exactly what I was looking at, but the other morning while heading to work on the northern ring road I was passed by something heavily disguised including custom front and rear car-bra style padded vinyl covers. It looked Falcon size and shape and had falcon mirrors on the doors and was fitted with the current GT style dual exhaust outlets. Big black wheels and it looked to be sitting fairly low. This was long after the force release from FPV so I’m thinking there is something else in development from FPV or maybe Ford has a new hotrod in mind for us. It didn't look long enough to be Fairlane based but I really didn't get the chance to study it to long from the side. Anybody else seen or heard of anything simular.

Could be a BF with Orion Running Gear... I believe Ford are building some early test mules sometime this year, although the factory tours have been closed for a while so this could be it. However if its Orion it will have new door skins.

very heavy disquise included all panel gaps tapped, orion could be right but orion gear in a BF mule wouldn't need all the makup!

Ud be suprised at the lenghts Motor companies will go to hide things, hiding new technology even if its only visible under the car is important, they dont want anyone to know what sorta car it is or what its running.

the orion would seem the most 'intelligent' response so far.

There are no full Orion spec builds on the road yet. Just within the plant, then they get crashed. There are some hybrid BF/Orion builds, most likely one of these.

whos to say it was a ford? although it checks most of the orion boxes, theres always the possibility of it being a holden or something.

It's the next VF commodore; after all, they have copied the front end of the falcon so GMH thought "why stop there, we'll copy the rest and anyone who doesn't agree, we'll just punt them off the road".

The hybrid builds that JEM is talking about would not be covered in such a way. That would be drawing attention to the fact the there is something different underneath the panels.

You could have saved all this hassle and just crashed into it a little bit .. then they would have to stop and you would have to have a look at the damage and maybe take a pic or 3 .

There were hybrid builds that would require disguise if they were on public roads. Whether it was one of these is not known.

As far as i know, there are no Orion's on the road yet.

But looking at the pictures taken of that test mule in the TRD Aurion thread, the car had standard ZR6 wheels on it, and they weren't painted black. It could be Aurion as the exhuast tips on the TRD version are of similar shape but bigger and built into the bumper. However the rear view mirrors are not the same shape and include indicators in them. Hopefully it is the 40th anniversary GT, if it is, it looks like some it will be differentiated from the GT range quite a bit, much in the way the 30th anniversary EL GT looked compared to the rest of the EL series.

I'm still thinking that's what it is. The same car has caught out many people on the forums.

Did the car have UGL plates, or anything on it to specifically identify it as a Falcon?
