Red face The Ea Falcon is no more !!!

well guys this is it the end of the ea.i rolled her down a hill and now need a ea-ed shell to put my old stuff in. i got out of it ok just some torn muscles and a few bruises around the head but other then that im ok. but car is most definately not. diff was torn out and every panel has a dent or destroyed other then the 2 drivers side doors! seems that in every accident this car has been through it has been the drivers side that gets no or minor damage well i need to find a shell like i said before but not going to be easy as i would like to get a fairmont ghia body so that its a bit easy on the shoulder when trying to change over all my gear im not sure as yet wether my engine has taken on any damage as the bonnet cant be opened as yet the fenders are making sure of that. anyone with ideas ? much appreciated

what a way to cut my weekend short !

Geez at least you are ok, good luck in finding a cheap donor car to work with.

*/ think I might put car in the garage for the rest of the month with the current e-series crash odds /*

What the hell possessed you to destroy your EA?

Good to hear you're OK though.

This thread is useless without pics!

In Vic damaged cars over 10 years old bought in an insurance auction and repaired will need a VIV inspection for registration. I don't know about other states, but some guy on FF bought and repaired an NL Concorde and needed to engineer it before he could get rego.

Keep that in mind if going to auctions.

Yes, I think I'll drive 20km under the limit tonight... This is a bad time for E-series owners!

Good to know you're (mostly) OK though. I'm dreading reading an E-series fatality thread one day :(

No good at all mate, glad to hear you're OK. Here's hoping you can find a worthy replacement shell.

VIV will cost $300 probably if the car was bought undamaged (stolen and recovered, stolen and stripped etc.) just to verify that all the numbers match.

If a damaged car is bought, repaired and the owner wants to rego. it they go over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything is done properly. There was a BA wagon at damaged auction look BRAND NEW, not a scratch or dent on it. Turned out that it had been bought from auction, repaired, taken for VIV and didn't pass because the chassis rails were still bent. Visually, they looked fine so these checks must be pretty thorough!
