Hi Guys,
I've just joined the ESeries Owners Club so I thought I would pop a mesasge up to say G'Day. I bought an EA Falcon S a couple of weeks ago and am looking to do it up (wife and kids permitting!!) Here she is It's nothing special at the moment but what I do need to know is if there any recommended places to take it to get worked on. I am only looking at manual gearbox and a bit of body kit so far, but over time will do more to it. So if anyone could help me out with some good places around the eastern suburbs of Melbourne I would appreciate it. Cheers Daz |

yeh welcome to the forums , i also cant reccomend any joints for bodykits, but if you want a new exhaust or extractors or anything related then i reckon Hallam Performance is the way to go. I know a few of the e-series boys go there

Welcome. That's a very tidy looking EA, good to see. I would recommend, Just Falcons on canterbury rd for a manual conversion, if you don't wanna do it yourself. There price seems to vary depending on who you talk to, but about 1000-1300 dirve in drive out, i think that's with a reco box, everything else second hand.
I'm converting my EA 3 speed at the moment, learning heaps too. Damian |

As the others have said, thats a very clean EA. Welcome to the club. Look foward to meeting you at a cruise some time (we have one coming up, if you check the e series events thread)
What made you choose an EA ? Steve |

Welcome aboard mate! I'm only a couple of kms away from your area myself but on the west side.
I can't really think why a 3 speed is easier to convert, my brain must be out of gear this morning. |

In response to a few questions, I got the car from Car City in Ringwood, for a smidge over $3,000, it has a couple of minor things that neede doing, some are already fixed. But as I say very minor, but they all count in bringing the price down:
Boot hydraulics stuffed - wont stay open Dash interior is split - needs replacing Horn don't work - gonna be brave and do it mysef Auto antenna stuffed - needs new motor Couple of electrical problems fixed Had an alarm fitted, but no remote for it Why did I choose an EA? Well, I like the look of them anyway, but I needed a new(er) car for work. I had an XE Fairmont which I was gonna do up but got borrowed by the inlaws for 8 months who live at Phillip Island and the sea air got to work on it and made it unworkable (too expensive). Work permitting I'll come down to the next cruise and see you all. Be nice to put some faces to names. _2: Cheers Daz EDIT Nearly forgot, it has 280,000 on it. Boot hydraulics: I guess you mean the struts need either regassing or replacing. Shouldnt cost u too much to do.
Horn doesn't work? Check that the actual horns (mounted between the bumper & the radiator, on the passenger side) have their tabs connected to the wires! My EB sounded a little high pitched for over 2 years before I finally looked down one say after popping the bonnet and noticed that a wire had come loose off the horn... Slid the clip back on, and now both horns are working again! Another tip for the horn (if this 1st trick doesn't work). "Honk" your horn, and listen for a click coming from near your battery. This will be a relay which has something to do with the horn operation. If you can hear a clicking, it is most likely that the horn itself is stuffed, rather than your steering wheel or the wires in between. Get hold of another (working) horn, say off a mate's car, and wire it up to the EA's horn wires. It doesn't matter which way you wire it up. If it toots, problem solved! Just get a pair of horns from a wrecking yard, and any type of horn will do really. My friend's EB had its dead horns replaced with Ford Meteor horns, and it's fkn loud now! If there's no clicking coming from near your battery though, swap the relays around (there should be three or four here) and test for clicking. If there's still no clicking, I'm afraid the problem is either with your steering wheel or in the wires leading to the horn... Which will be a bugger to fix : Hope that helps! -Dave- |

I have like 6 sets of dual horns in my garage. PM me if you're interested in any!
I have a uncracked dash that's been on hold for like 6 months as well...pick it up Jack :@ Did it come with a RW? If it didn't, sounds like it's had a dodgy one if the horns aren't working. Sundeep |
