tuning el 6cyl?

Hey guys. I have been reading a few posts and noticed.

1.)fuel smell when i have 1/4tank or less
2.)excessive fuel usage always (350-450 max per tank unleaded)
3.)under hard acceleration... black carbon smoke tornado out the exhaust

Is ther anything wrong with my EL 6cyl or is this just normal falcon behavior?? Does anyone else experience this???

If this is abnormal, is there anything i can do to fix it???

vehicle is EL 6cyl Auto, KN Filter, running unleaded shell fuel, thats all.

I would suggest, just to see what happens, may solve 1 if not all your problems.

Clean the injectors
Clean the throttle body
Replace spark plugs
Replace spark leads
Replace fuel filter
Next full tank you fill up, put in Synergy 8000, a full tank.
Put a good oil in it. Penrite HPR brand.

As to the smell, maybe your petrol cap aint venting properly.

yeah, most of that has been done in the last 12 months, but maybe it should be done again.... it is a falcon after all.
