Default EB V8 + Gas + Pod = ???

hey guys,

ive got a k+n pod and heatshield sitting here off my old EA which i want to put onto the EB, but because its on gas im not sire if it will run properly with this on, cos the guy i got it off had removed the snorkel from the airbox because it was gettin "too much" air when it was running on gas causeing it to miss a bit.

anyone know how itll end up? because i would really like to avoid damagin the engine.

thanks
Juz

it will be fine, thats what the mixer does anyway, i have an i6 on lpg and an unshielded pod, all is good! the mixer will determine the amount of air that get in.

cheers
scott

Rymers probably wouldn't want you to prove it :P again

A backfire would never sound like a dose anyway, but I have a vivid imagination and am very bored this arvo.

gas cars backfire often, it would be no different if you had the standard airbox, although a backfire with the air box, blew mine to pieces, so the pod is a great idea!!!! the pod will let the smoke out quick

the gas systems usually have a pipe that faces into the snorkel against air flow, so if the air pressure is too great the gas system compensates to keep the right pressure. i dunno what would happen if you used a pod without an airbox? because this system would have no use without the box.

I had a pod on my car which is also LPG, but it started idling rough, so i took it off. Im pretty sure that K&N doesnt recommend using them with gas powered cars. It may still backfire depending on ur gas setup, but instead of the airbox flying off, id say it would be the pod filter lol.

Yup it'll blow the pod off if it backfires, used to happen all the time in my mates gas powered VN.

perfect example, it all comes down to if the gas system has been setup correctly. if you are having backfires i would be getting your car checked out as there must be a problem somewhere
