heres my daily's

and when the XR is running - depending on what/where I'm going that day for work I take the black beauty for a run. but basically I have 3 cars to choose from as the misses no longer needs to drive as we live ~500m away from her work so it's all good.

feel like going fast - take the XR
cruise - take the LTD
cheep - take the hyundai

I got a 1985 telstar daily, pretty good on fuel and stuff.

I used to only drive my car on weekends anyway as I didn't really need a car during the week. I havn't driven it properly in 7 months.

Since the Sprint isn't running im running around in a turbo diesel ford courier which isn't a bad car at all, Since work is like 5mins down the road from me i'm just going do drive the courier to and from work now on since its not really worth the drive in the sprint.

The LTD is my daily, but because its off the road at the moment I'm driving Mrs. Goodz' 96 Celica... Not a bad little car, but no cd player or cruise control, and definitely doesn't sound as good as the LTD! If I'm not driving the LTD or the Celica, then I'm driving a 1978 FJ40 Landcruiser.

Heres a pic of my daily driver,
2002 Liberty RX, with all the bibs and bobs..... I still love driving the ED for booze cruises and the occasional 'wet road warrior' excursion on a wet day ;)

My daily is a hell of a lot cheaper & faster than my XR. 2002 GSX-R1000. 270km from $17 & 11.4 sec 1/4 mile with plenty more potential FTW.

The XR only gets driven when it's wet, when I have things to carry, when I have passengers, or on cruises, which all seems to be quite often lately.

Do you get 270km from a tank?

Ive been wanting a new bike for ages but keep hearing stories about 1000's being crap on fuel. 270km for $17 is better than what I get now!

I don't wrap my 1000 every chance I get, but I am far from easy on it as well. My fuel light usually comes on at about 250km, but I have stretched it to 270km. Best $10k I have ever spent.

It's heaps better than paying $80+ for 400kms like I get out of the Falcon.

The only problem with dailys is the desire to do them up! They're supposed to be the cheap run about!

I want to lower the mazda, get a set of rims, stereo (just mp3 player for now) is a MUST..

hhrmm.. bigger turbo and front mount anyone?

I now also have a very tidy FZR 250 sitting out the back sitting next to the Aprilia and the Kawasaki.. So different to ride compared to the Aprilia.. Here is the Aprilia..

Nik

How does the aprilia go compared to a 4 stroke 250?

The cbr loves to be neglected! Ive done 35000k's on 3 oil changes! It loves it! Hasnt missed a beat.

I cant wait to get something quicker though.

The aprilia is just an awesome piece of machinery.. So smooth.. Its eats most 250's - 600's upto 100kmh then things change.. But hey.. i haven't taken it past 120 yet anyways.. She is bout due for a top-end rebuild.. I am currently looking at upgrading to a RS250.. i had a suzuki rgv 250 when i first got my licence then my uncle decided to turn it into a jigsaw puzzle for me.. That was a fast bike..

Cheers,
Nik

This is my daily for the next few weeks, a gunmetal grey EF XR6 manual:

Unfortunately I have to give it back though. It's only mums old car, but it's the car all of my family drives when they're modifying their own cars haha. Goes quite well (bit quicker than mine, at a guess 15.3) It's just been converted to LPG so it's cheap to run, but still pulls a solid 220 clicks ;)
