It was getting to hot in the engine bay cos of extractors melting electrical tape and almost the power wire for stereo. The shield looks awsome i reckon for a back yard job will put up pics tommorow. Its been painted in K&H engine enamel and it seems to very effective

why not just use the original heat shield?

Ahh the smell of fresh paint burning, is there anything better? Yes Shane, I know you'll say rubber, I was thinking more the clean burning smell of 42c per litre LPG.
Anyone know exactly how much "sand" or whatever it is they use in the std heatshield for insulation. Looking forward to sum pics.

i used galvinised steel, its just over a 1mm thick i think. Get sum pics later.
