Just went through one of those new multi-nova camera's today that takes your picture from behind. Although mainly to catch motorcycles it must have busted a whole lot of cars!
It was in a 40km/h school zone, but it was after 10:00am AND just before it there was a digital speed notification sign that tells you your speed, anyway i went through it but it said "58km/h Slow Down" If I get a fine i'll be ****ed off coz then i'll have to fight it etc etc. And it uses infra red instead of a globe flash so its hard to tell that youve been done! oh yeh Pertharians... the sign after it was WHITE lettering on a BLUE background. |

Wait till they are on the front of parked cars, no signs, 3 kms over, Rav 4's or station wagons, on almost every street with no signs before or after. No evidence of being caught.........sorry that WA has finally caught up with the Victorian Bracks pack!

My god! I feel for you guys!! and you lot cant even have radar detectors aye!
I really should buy one before the boys in blue make them illegal here. (im thinking about mounting one in my bumper and extending the led light and buzzer to my dash - wonder if it will work?) actually the WA police used to put them in the back of hilux 4x4's in a specially made fibreglass canopy and in the back of Econovan's. But i have not seen them in years. I have seen these ex camera hilux's in driveways and it still makes me freak out when i see them. On another note - a cleaner where I work who is Croation says his mates over there turn their car cigarette lighters into a microphone for there mobile phones so the cops think that they are lighting a cigarette and not talking on the phone!! :hihi: Looks like they have not got hands free yet! I wonder if there is a cord coming out of the lighter?? |

Im geting a radar detector soon. I dont speed around the city, but I do in the country. Im driving from sydney to perth mid year and il be dammed if I have to go the limit the whole way.
My brother has a bike and he just has his rego sticker thing over part of his number plate. So if he gets caught I guess they cant give him a fine

Will Hagon was on the radio last night and said "only 5% of accidents are caused by speeding" !!!!! so why the proliferation of revenue cameras ?? revenue..revenue..revenue..no police bs propoganda will convince me otherwise...

As an Ex-Victorian, now living in Perth (over 6years), i think the perth drivers have had it tough right from the start, even though they/we are allowed radar detectors. We have these things called multinova's that face oncoming traffic, always hidden in shadows or in bushes and even with a radar detector, they are hard to dodge. At least with the victorian ones (And i should know from driving there for over 10yrs), set up infront of commadore wagons, 4x4's etc, facing direction of travel, you get used to the dodgy car setups the fuzz use and generally stop in time and can see the blue camera box if your not too much of a speed goose, So really I think WA has been ahead in the photo camera game.....

At least you guys in WA can use detectors legally, and at least have a fighting chance.

You sure it wasn't one of them things to check your speedo. I remember going though one a number of weeks back and it said slow down as well. 72 in a 70 zone oh my god I was speeding alright.
