02 TS50, BF XR6T, F6 Typhoon, but for 5grand u can get a supercharger kit from capa that bolts straight on to a XR8 BA BF and is good 4 like 400kw, that would have to be pretty good i reckon

This 6/05 F6, was it the new or old clutch one? There was a major ECU upgrade when the clutch was replaced. My absolutely bog standard BA2 F6 with original dunlop tyres at road pressure, a full tank of petrol and a boot full of junk and suitcases did 13.8 at willobank on the first time I had ever been there in the F6 and the third time I had ever been on any drag strip ever. This was about July/Aug 2005. I have never been on a drag strip since, it does not interest me that much. |

My T3 (minor mods and edit) has approximately the same power (220rwkW) and just a little less torque than the Typhoon. However my torque is instant across the range which is where I seem to have the initial advantage. I have had several roll-on side by side "events" against Phoons (and GTs) and the result is always the same. I get the jump and they eventually hold me but can't make up any ground. On the track I have only ever used street tyres and at my last outing at Wakefield there was a modified XR6T (running more power than a stock Typhoon) and with his semi-slicks could only manage a half-second a lap quicker than the T3. I don't have Brembos and against Brembo equipped cars I've never felt I was any worse off - fact is I have never had fade even after twelve or so consecutive laps. One day if I ever do I'll trade up to Brembos. |

I love the AU's and would buy a T3 over an F6 any day of the week.. but the F6 is the best performance car ever produced in Aust as a whole package IMHO. I'd still buy the T3 cause it looks, handles and sounds better though

may be a freak, but it did it and I have no doubt in my mind is was capable of doing it again. I did make a mistake though, I believe its an 4 speed auto, not a 6 speed.

Hey STAV by the way your talking your better off buying a v8supercar or somthing and even they are breakable. How much abuse do you want to give a car. No matter what car you buy being aussie or form overseas IT CAN BREAK.
Bang for buck BA/BF turbo6 straight out.

Hey, I'm not taking anything at all away from the Typhoon - it is undoubtedly the best value (new) performance car on the market IMO. I'd have one in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the sh!tloads of debt I'm already in!!! |

It's a 6 speed. It is stock ( a filter is really NOT a mod ) and it has done a 12. These are facts that cannot be disputed. People may not like the F6 and prefer other vehicles but it's all down to choice.
Safe to say, the majority vote the typhoon.... even me really |

Typhoon's are simply awesome, but a modded 3valve powered car is magnificent.

Gaz done 13.2/13.3 with traction control on, sh7t load of fuel....100% street trim 2.2 60 foot. it was his 1st time ever down the 400 meters, he wanted to see what time the car would do driving it off the street strait on to the track. Hand this car to Mauz with his wiz bang luanch it would have ripped a 12.

If we go back and read the thread title ""The Best performance modern ford?""
you'll see this is not a, F6 did this Or an F6 did that, stock, X 60ft nothing but an air filter, & any other such dribble. IT IS>> The Best performance modern ford? Trying to a avoid bunfight here?? There is one thing that is important though, it looks like even without the assotiated dribble, that F6 is the stand out performer, along with the T3 & GT with some XR8s thrown in & the F6 has really touched people.[including me] They [F6]are a great car, but there are many differences between them by the looks. The one I drove in 05 was a stock new car with clutch upgrade, if that makes a difference I dont know. Are there two different models besides the BA/BF. As far as I know the power was the same right through BA & onto BF?? So in anwser to the thread?? We have never had it so good. I think there is not one car from the Ford stable that is a true stand out, but a number of great cars in there own right. You would not go to far wrong choosing any of these car as ""A true modern performance Fords""..

Typhoon says head. GT says heart. If I was going to actually BUY one, I would get the Typhoon. There will never be another AU of any kind in this house I wouldnt think.
