02 TS50, BF XR6T, F6 Typhoon, but for 5grand u can get a supercharger kit from capa that bolts straight on to a XR8 BA BF and is good 4 like 400kw, that would have to be pretty good i reckon

Ok had a thrash in the F6, this is how I found it...
Steering: Direct although a little heavy..
Suspention:Good ride, points better, not as front heavy or understeery as GT.
Tyres: Dont know why FPV put such crappy tyres on a car like these...
Brakes : FPV standard brake package, Fine but I would go for Brembo's
6 Speed:Well spaced ratios, good stick feel, although a little high geared.
Engine: smooth turbine like, very nice, had the "shusssh shusssh" happerning.
Power: ""OK here we go!!"" REMEMBER! this is my opinion only, so DONT get on here flaming me!!

I found it to be smooth & gentle under 3000rpm, from 3200 it the wind starts to blow & doesn't let up untill the bells start ringing. "We'll put the Gtech on tomorrow"..
Again this is my opinion!
The bum.o.meter..says...
A sub 14 sec car? very unlikley, mabe on a good day.
A low 14 sec car? yes.
A GT beater? no.
A GT alternitive? yes.
A Typhoon? no, more a strong southerly wind.
Was I impressed? no.
Was I unimpressed? no.

Overall a very nice car, it does everything well. I dont know were this car fits though???. Its about as fast as a GT, but doesn't have that GT instant torque or sound.
It handles a little sharper but still let down by the tyres, as is the GT.
Looks the same as a GT apart from the wheels & lump in the bonnet..
Great interier, smart seats, looks clean & sporty & feels very nice..
Poor steering wheel, "Id go for the FPV one"
Which one would I have right now?
The T3 is safe.
2nd...GT
3rd...F6
So there ya go, that my impression of the F6 so far.

Now remember this was in 2005, but I think it still stands. Although I would shuffle the pack a bit....
Not that you are biased.....

This 6/05 F6, was it the new or old clutch one? There was a major ECU upgrade when the clutch was replaced.

My absolutely bog standard BA2 F6 with original dunlop tyres at road pressure, a full tank of petrol and a boot full of junk and suitcases did 13.8 at willobank on the first time I had ever been there in the F6 and the third time I had ever been on any drag strip ever.
This was about July/Aug 2005.
I have never been on a drag strip since, it does not interest me that much.

Have you driven a BF 6 spd auto F6 or come up against one, quite a few have run 12's stock now down the 1/4. I'd have to imagine that from a roll it'd still have to be extreamly quick, i couldn't honestly see a stock T3 (or a Boss) keeping up even from a roll.

As for the track what brake's do you have, std or brembo's. Did the xr's and F6's have the brembo's. I'm not having a crack here but brake and rubber choice will have a big impact on lap time's, i would have to think there'd be over a sec difference between dunlop's vs 1o4's alone.

Is your T3 stock, what sort of power and tqe is it putting out.
Yes mate, driven both auto and manual. I'm honestly sceptical if a stock one has done 12s. I know some people who call their Typhoons stock after having an edit done - because everything else is "stock" in their minds LOL.

My T3 (minor mods and edit) has approximately the same power (220rwkW) and just a little less torque than the Typhoon. However my torque is instant across the range which is where I seem to have the initial advantage. I have had several roll-on side by side "events" against Phoons (and GTs) and the result is always the same. I get the jump and they eventually hold me but can't make up any ground.

On the track I have only ever used street tyres and at my last outing at Wakefield there was a modified XR6T (running more power than a stock Typhoon) and with his semi-slicks could only manage a half-second a lap quicker than the T3. I don't have Brembos and against Brembo equipped cars I've never felt I was any worse off - fact is I have never had fade even after twelve or so consecutive laps. One day if I ever do I'll trade up to Brembos.

Were the suitcases and junk in there for traction ?

Sorry T3man, I know of an F6 sedan (6 speed auto) that ran into the 12's with only a filter change. It was as stock as you want to get.
I love the AU's and would buy a T3 over an F6 any day of the week.. but the F6 is the best performance car ever produced in Aust as a whole package IMHO.

I'd still buy the T3 cause it looks, handles and sounds better though

may be a freak, but it did it and I have no doubt in my mind is was capable of doing it again. I did make a mistake though, I believe its an 4 speed auto, not a 6 speed.

Hey STAV by the way your talking your better off buying a v8supercar or somthing and even they are breakable. How much abuse do you want to give a car. No matter what car you buy being aussie or form overseas IT CAN BREAK.

Bang for buck BA/BF turbo6 straight out.

Well I guess it's not a stocker after all - Typhoons come in only two ways from the factory. Six speed T56 manual or ZF 6-speed auto. If it has a tricked up (I'm just guesing 'cos some have) 3 or 4 speed auto built for the drags then it probably isn't a stock motor either. There's a guy on another forum calls his typhoon "stock" but it's putting out over 340 rwkw - go figure! LOL

Hey, I'm not taking anything at all away from the Typhoon - it is undoubtedly the best value (new) performance car on the market IMO. I'd have one in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the sh!tloads of debt I'm already in!!!

I'll have to ask him what auto is in it (I know its an auto.. I just dont know exactly what it is.. I'm not really into the B series cars to follow whats what) but it was stock.. wasnt even fully run in at the time.
He's a member here, I know the car and I know him. It was stock (except for a panel filter)

It's a 6 speed. It is stock ( a filter is really NOT a mod ) and it has done a 12. These are facts that cannot be disputed. People may not like the F6 and prefer other vehicles but it's all down to choice.

Safe to say, the majority vote the typhoon.... even me really

Thanks Jeff, you know the one I'm talking about. It did a 12 effectively stock. No ifs, no buts. It was there and I dont doubt other F6's could do it too.

I do, we both know who it is but he values his privacy so we have to respect that. I believe spoolman's ran a very low 13 before it got tickled.

Correct Jim you and Mauz have both done 12 sec passes...STOCK.
Gaz done 13.2/13.3 with traction control on, sh7t load of fuel....100% street trim 2.2 60 foot.
it was his 1st time ever down the 400 meters, he wanted to see what time the car would do driving it off the street strait on to the track.
Hand this car to Mauz with his wiz bang luanch it would have ripped a 12.

If we go back and read the thread title ""The Best performance modern ford?""
you'll see this is not a, F6 did this Or an F6 did that, stock, X 60ft nothing but an air filter, & any other such dribble.

IT IS>>
The Best performance modern ford?

Trying to a avoid bunfight here??
There is one thing that is important though, it looks like even without the assotiated dribble, that F6 is the stand out performer, along with the T3 & GT with some XR8s thrown in & the F6 has really touched people.[including me]
They [F6]are a great car, but there are many differences between them by the looks.
The one I drove in 05 was a stock new car with clutch upgrade, if that makes a difference I dont know.
Are there two different models besides the BA/BF. As far as I know the power was the same right through BA & onto BF??

So in anwser to the thread??
We have never had it so good.
I think there is not one car from the Ford stable that is a true stand out, but a number of great cars in there own right. You would not go to far wrong choosing any of these car as ""A true modern performance Fords""..

Typhoon says head. GT says heart. If I was going to actually BUY one, I would get the Typhoon. There will never be another AU of any kind in this house I wouldnt think.
