just wondering if there is any difference between an forte 5 speed ecu and a XR6 5 speed ecu?

The XR6 supposedly has a slightly better tune. Now, is it the XR6 HP, or XR6 VCT? If it's the VCT one, then it's no good for your car. The HP one should also be OK, but may require the fuel regulator and fuel rail from an XR6. Stav may be able to help you answer this properly.
