Well I'll vouch for one. We have an AU III forte and it is brilliant, gets 12kms to a litre and we got it dirt cheap second hand with about 50,000kms on the clock, ex govt. They are a very nice car to drive, better steering feel than a BA or BF i reckon.

lol, no drugs either.

I have a AU Fairmont Ghia I picked it up for under 10 and it has 110,000 on the clock.

It has a Tickford motor, leather, electric seat, climate control, rims 11 speakers including sub and millions of features look up the specs yourself.

Thanks to idiyots like you driving down resale I picked up a high tech and fast and brilliant car dirt cheap so I'm not sure whether to thank you or abuse you.....

I'v read articles on sites like drive.com.au and they talked about the AU being a better car then people think. and even the RAA (I think victorians call it the RACQ) put out a yearly motoring magazine and they had an article on the AU's and the fact that they are great value for money if our looking for a second-hand car. but thanks for the constructive critisism I really should back myself up when I make statements.

I agree. I drive an AUII and my folks have a BA MkII futura and if it wasnt for the low quality low profile tyres on my AU, it would drive as good as the BA. The main noticable difference as you mentioned is the steering, some like that light feel of the AU(Like myself and flukey77) and some prefer the heavy, more sporty, steering of the BA.
