I have seen the video that has been posted up which i have veiwed a few times but now it's got me to thinking that i didn't lock the rear wheels as i first thought due to the fact the car kinda skips left before making it's turn toward the guard rail. I know i was the driver but every thing happened so quickly that there are things i don't remember. I remember feeling the car move to the left but i thought it went a little more siddeways until i seen the video. Can anyone explain what went wrong??
Cheers Mark http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoID=20319 82529

I can't get that link to fire, but i did se the vid. from a laymans view it looked like your left front steering went cactus in some way, then in the instant moment ( when it tracked left you hung on the wheel to correct it and then due to unknown steering problem it just circled up into the right hand side wall and was all over in seconds

The whole car looks to move a full car width to the left before almost pivoting on its front wheels.
Was there serious damage to the rear suspension? Something has let go big time in either the front or rear suspension. To recreate that amount of movement (at that speed), you'd need to wind on and off lock extremely fast. I don't think you could have reacted that quickly to the incident. Thankfully (as has already been stated) you were able to stop the car before hitting anything harder than a guardrail. I would suggest that you remove the video and have this thread deleted if you're engaged in talks with your insurance provider. Casey. |
