Angry Au1 Stereo & Aerpro

: Is there a difference between AU1 XR's & non XR's stereo's? I ordered a aerpro facia kit which is suppose to be for AU1's only......but after getting my factory stereo out & placing the aerpro in place there is a gap at the bottom.
whats going on? (see pic's) Do i need to get a pocket instead? I'm thinking at this stage to cut a piece of wood, shape & paint it to fit into the gap at the bottom. Anyone got any other ideas? or can tell why it dosnt fit correctly.
Thanks John

Thanks, so do I have a double din? I thought series 1 had a 1 1/2 din....strange.
The only thing that puts me off putting a pocket in, is the stereo's I have seen fitted don't look as good in the top corners & yes a pic would be nice.

sorry, also does anybody know the ford part number for the pocket. The local ford dealer is useless to deal with. If I have part number They cant say you cant get one, as they have said about other stuff I have asked about.

Yeah it does look like youve got the Series 2 item.

Re the Ford pocket, Im told it only comes in the grey to match the Series 1 interior and that youve gotta paint it to match the S2/3 one, is this correct?

Yes, yours is double din (same as my au3).

I also bought that one and ended up cutting it down and combining it with a standard din pocket.

Looks ok, no gaps or mismatching corners.

I'll find a pic later.
