H1s are still the most fun to drive :p H2s arent the same, different console, you dont feel as if you are in a tank like you do a h1. And the H3's are baby hummers! If i had to pick one of the 3 to have, and i wanted to drive through things, or do some serious offroading, you cant beat a h1. Theres a reason why they use them in wars! lol.

Yours will be a H1, which is built in the states, LHD, big mutha, imported / converted / warrenteed by who?

I'm not trying to be a pain, I'd just like to know what the go is.

OK, it goes like this. I by the H1 they have it converted they comply it and i pay for it. Then it comes under there warranty. Much like the Suburbans they did a few years ago. Dose that make sense??

I hope you like it!
But sorry to rain on your parade, but the Humvees the yanks use in the army are big piles of ****! How do I know? im in Iraq looking at them everyday.
Also if it is the H1 ask them if they have sorted out the problems with the steering breaking under strain, one in Townsville (belonged to the prison) used to get serviced at the Isuzu dealership and spent more time on the workshop floor than on the road.
Just my view, as i dont personnally like them (i'd go after a tricked out 100 series landcruiser), but good luck with your buy anyway.

The Suburbans were directly imported by Holden from the factory where they were built in Mexico with a Chevrolet right hand drive trailblazer dash and steering rack fitted (amazingly the dash didnt fit or compliment the rest of the car's interior).

What your doing by the sounds of it is that your buying the car off GM in the US, and someone is importing it for you - our question is whether Holden is importing it for you or if one of the independant Hummer importers such as American Cars Australia are importing it for you.

I see what you mean now. Holden is doing it all. I am going through Preston Motor's in Campbellfield. I pay the money and when it arrives i drive it away. Sorry for not making that clear.

Wasn't the version used by the QLD prison dept up armoured making it well overweight? The desert enviroment is harsh on all machinery and they don't get any mechanical sympathy from their users. You actually know they are pieces of ****! by working on them or someone told you? cheers

Nice John, I'll have to come check it out when you get it.

I got scared thinking you'd be getting a H3. I can't picture you in a lowered H3 with 27" bling wheels and Snoop Dogg blasting out the stereo.

Humvee or Series 3 110? I still can't figure out what the blackout switch on the dash does.

I was of the understanding that the H1 had been dropped from the lineup for civilian sales some time ago because of the sales of the Suburban derived H2?

Love to see you park it at Knox! I cant take the P6 there!

Will it fit in the drive way? I have been in one and couldnt get over the width of them, and how close they squeezed you next to the door. For a big 'truck' they were a bit squishy with the huuuuggggggeeeeee console in the middle!

But you gotta love em.........I want to come for a spin! (Or squash a hyandai!!)

Seen a h1 getting about mornington the other night... had ricer green underbody neons... diluted the toughness of it and turned it into a fagcar. didnt catch what it was rolling on but i think stokie wheels.

hell if i had a ****load of cash i'd buy one and drive it only when im in a bad mood haha i bet it would be satisfying... bit of a **** though.

Yeah, you can argue why you'd buy a car like that till your blue in the face, but it will always come across as a big ****...
