ok so he may of lied about the 1/4 speed thats good to know so im not dissapointed when do the 1/4. 140 is pretty good for here around wollongong all we got is little buzzboxes (4cyl 4inch exhausts $10000 sound systems....) do you guys reckon it would be worth turboing??

Yeah, definatly would be worth turbocharging, especially with the AU motor already in it. About the only way to make heaps more power, if you want a useable engine on the street anyhow.

Having the compression raised isnt good for the turbo setup

The dodgy way to lower compression would be to get a spacer or something and a 2nd head gasket. So that you have (from bottom to top) Block --> Gasket --> Spacer --> Gasket --> Head.
Or (the expensive way, and I dunno if this option is available with the E-series I6) shorter rods/shallower pistons... -Dave- |

It'd be worth going the full hog if you're going to the trouble of turbocharging it. You *might* get away with your current compression ratio if you limit it to low boost, good fuel, good intercooler setup, and a good tuning... probably easier in the long run to go all out though.
My car feels like it's got about 60rwkw, so you're doing alright... I'll swap you :P |
