Gday guys
Picked up the wifes AU ghia yesterday Very happy with it BUT,I was well aware the CD was clicking and had a problem before I bought it,thinking it was a simple fixed,I pulled it apart to sort out its problem,I found the dics cradles were jammed which it quite common(it happen to my XR6 ute prestige unit a couple years ago). So I still couldnt get it to work, and now the radio not working as well.......... SOooooooooo. Is there a place that any one knows of that reco's these units or are they a throw away job.As they do look nice in the dash there,If not I'll go for a after market deck with usb,MP3 input to do away with the CD's altogether.

premium sound i would assume its a 6 stacker and the 6 stackers are guranteed to break mate. problem is if you get another 6 stackers it will no doubt fail again. its probably better just to throw it out and get a single din unit with a pocket underneath.

What he said. I got myself a single DIN Alpine unit that has in-built iPod support. A cable goes from the back of the head unit to the glove box, where the iPod lives. It keeps the iPod charged and I have access to all music and playlists from the head unit. Instead of a 6 stacker I have something like a 200 stacker. |

I've got a feeling you won't be able to use your sub with the single CD unit. You'll lose the use of it with any after market unit as well unless you get it wired properly. There's a technical thread with pics here somewhere that says how to do it. |
