Default MPI conversion success!!!

First if all, YAY!! : its all going. After a few mishaps it all going sweetly.

The first mishap was moving the damn aircon tensionor pully, eventually got that moving, felt quite stupid after realising how to do it....

then out came the old manifold, didnt take as long as i thought it would actually, that left me with a very empy engine bay, as quite excited.

next all the plumbing was changed over, nothign real exciting there to report. then in with the new manifold, pluged it all in ( or so i thought ), bolted it all up, waiting for teh big moment, and nothing, just some clicking... not cool

we dicovered a red wire that we had no idea what it did, straight on the forums i went, figured it was the starter motor relay, manifold off again... plugged it in, manifold back on and hey presto, it cranked, but that was it....

next we went thru the list of what it could be, it cranked, there was spark, next was fuel, none, took off the outlet hose, none in the rail, took off the inlet, there was plenty in there, most of it ended up in my eye :

after getting the regulator off and looking at it like i knew what i was doing...i had a look thru the manual and discovered that i had the hoses on the wrong way.... : swapped them over, primed the rail, cranked it it it worked!!!!! :

had a play around with the idle as it wasnt real flash. did a bit a dance and jumped around a bit like a fool, hey, i was happy!

new accelerater cable in, checked everything was in order and took her for a fang around the bolck, :eclipsee_

felt it instantly, heaps more power, theres now a few more black lines around my area.

over all, im VERY happy with the conversion

if anyones interested i now have a fully functional cfi manifold for sale plus all bits needed for a mpi to cfi refit

thnks for replying to my dumb posts about how to undo stuff

theres a couple of pic just to prove that it went in

I had to lay under the car to plug that wire in. manifold off was a bit extreme. did you rewire the idle control circuit?

well ive either got big hands or ive got alot of stuff in there thats in the way, it was supprising easy to get the manifold on and off, only took about 10 minutes. This is really my first time doing anthing major to a car, so i didnt exactly know what i was doing, so all in all, i thought i did a bloody good job a couple of things gone wrong along the way but its all a learning precess
