Default AU Series1 Chaser (I6)

Just wondering if there is any difference between the 4.0 engines that were installed in the non XR series police cars and the cars that John Q public were offered?

I currently own a Series1 ex QLD cop car (fully-optioned Forte).. and am curious.

I did find a hog head, cut into 4 pieces in the boot when I bought the car... It was then I realised the car used to belong to Queensland Police Headquarters.

Engine...no. You get a better driveshaft, a 240km/h recalibratable speedo, xr springs and the speed limiter should be bumped to suit the speedo. Oh, and a more agressive diff ratio, my old one had a 3.45, but some people have had 3.23's too...

yep - 2 kilometer increments on the speedo instead of 5km lines
also a little gay button on the dash for turning the interior light on and off, which is kinda useless because you've already got that near your lights
also rear power windows, so they can lock them. and decreased reliability from harsh driving from cold.
