Forget the rad, cause if as you say the issue is only happening at a stand still, the fans are at fault

I'd get a pressure test, test for split hoses... aswell and a thematic fan load test.

If he didn't say the issue happens when parked I'd agree with you, but in this case I don't. |

Could be a number of things.
One way to check if the fans are coming on full speed ... turn A'/C on and turn it to fan speed 3 or 4 ... you should hear them roar. I had one of my fans lose it's efficiency ... only slowly turned without much force .... so i just replaced the thermos completely. Another thing though is that your water pump may be completed corroded out internally and it is not pumping the watter/coolant around your watter galleries enough. I have been through the overheating fun (not fun really) ... it's really trial and error in some cases. When it comes to radiators ... don't scimp on them ... If getting a replacement ... got to NATRAD or ADRAD for a decent radiator ... my aftermarket twin core copper radiator only cost me $250-ish

You can't miss the roar of the thermo fans kicking in. Try what Mechan1k says, even open the bonnet to be sure you can hear them (or not). And Blueprint is a radiator specialist, so if you can give him the info he asked for you can attack the problem on 2 fronts.

i replaced the hoses also, the red was a heavy dudy rad, much thicker than the orignal rad anyway, it wasnt a cheap rad, it cost in the ball parf of $200, [trade price] the thermostat as i said is motorcraft. Water pump or thermo fans maybe the prob?????????
