Ford Australia have announced the sacking of 500 workers today.....

I didn't think they had 500 workers left to sack.

Soon they will have 3 workers left at the assembly line making 1 Falcon a month from 100% Chinese parts.

But of course they will hire 2000 extra accountants and marketing gurus to come up with ways to increase profits..................

I think they need to hire crisis management or recovery accountants quick smart.......

FoMoCo looks set to have major liquidity issues during 2009; their US strategy is failing and they are now selling off their "star performance" brands in order to create some form of working capital for the core Ford brand; they can't raise any more equity funding as their shares are close to junk status; the cost of debt funding has blown out and I doubt they will have much luck with the banks either.

Last rumour from Japan was that FoMoCo will sell their 34% stake in Mazda; I wouldnt be suprised if Volvo is next.

Id be getting rid of Volvo first! Mazda is on a roll.

I thought these sackings where old news. What did everyone expect?

First time i have seen it on the National News......

But then i dont spend to much time with my finger on the Ford pulse anymore, it feels a little irregular of late........ :
