Very nice... The metallic trim around the driving / fog lights is a nice little feature.

I can see that in my garage. Actually, I can't afford the current ST, but for a 5 Cyl turbo job, i'll happily sell my family. :

I think me liking this car all depends on the price it comes out for! If its still $37000 (in line with the old Astra Turbo) it would be great.... but if it comes out at $45000+ i think i would be in doubt....

All,
The new ST is nice isn't it. Before I moved to Oz in Nov. '04, I was driving the C307ST development vehicle's in the UK. I worked with the PF&DS Team (performance feel & driving smoothness). I had one for the last weekend I was with Ford (for appraisal of course), and it was great to see petrolheads wondering what just overtook them. The car had disguise kit on, but still looked the part, and handled fantastic for a development vehicle. The new ST has the power of the old Focus RS, but a more progressive delivery of torque due the nature of the 5 cyl, and low pressure turbo. Peak torgue is delivered from around 1500rpm (very low) and is maintained until 4500rpm. The new ST isn't as 'raw' as the old focus RS, and is more of a fast tourer. The RS version will be hardcore. I do hope they bring the ST to Aus. If not, I'll get one containered over !!! Mike |

I really want an ST, but a Zetec will have to do if Ford wont budge on bringing it to Australia.

The ST is in the pipeline for Australia as Tom Gorman has already said before, its headed for production in the UK and Europe in early '06, but you wont see them on the road here until at least the time of the Sydney motor show 2006, (october).
either way, 165kw AWD is a tearer of a package! beats the Golf GTi hands down and kicks dirt in the face of the Astra Turbo. |

From what I can see, the Euro Focus has silver lights all through their range, thus it may be a South African and thus Asia-Pacific specification to have black lights on the Zetec. We also get the Asia-Pacific bodykit and painted foglight surrounds that Europe don't get.
That would also explain why ST is silver, in line with everything else.

In the same way the UK ST170 Focus never got the bodykit standard or the ST170 red badging on the rear quarters, I suspect...
