Default Update on Rmyers project

Since the lazy bum still hasn't fixed his computer power supply, i'll post this on his behalf. :P

As some of you may know, Steve's car was taken off the road again for us to pull the engine out and fix a few things, before it was due to be sent to rank rotary to have the computer and cooler fitted.

Well, plans have changed slightly, the car is now going to swift automotive in Dandenong to have the cooler fitted and a straight gas GRA setup installed.

It was booked in to be started today, however due to a leaky transmission line (followed by another one!), it has been postponed until tomorrow.

At this stage all that is left is to move the battery to the boot and drive the car to Swift in the morning. It should be ready within about a week. ;)

For now here's a pic of the work in progress:

Cheers,
Dave

Ahhh excellent stuff! Can't WAIT!! What was the reason for changing from Rank Rotary to Swift?

Oh, thought i would add a picture of the engine crane which we "did up" when steve's mate and myself were bored.

Key features include:
Powerdyne 9psi Supercharger
Turbosmart Blow-off Valve
K&N Pod filter
Powerade bottle "Hi flow" exhaust tip
A number of stickers from local performance places
"Head gasket package" rear wing for extra downforce
"Wade Cam package" front spoiler and side skirts for improved aerodynamics

I tell ya, the thing really moves now ;) lol

Yeah, GRA set ups are cheaper than power supplies.

Tell him to sober up, get a new power supply and get his **** on here!

A number of reasons, but the main reason is emissions and cost. He wants the car to be as legal as possible, and it will cost him about the same to have the car setup at rank as it will to have it setup at swift. But at swift it will be easier to meet emissions, and he won't have to pay $3000 to have it tested.

I was wondering when we were going to hear more about this car. Straight gas sounds like a good idea, I cant wait to see this thing in action. The gas should be a lot easier to get fitted and tuned as well. Will we see it at the dyno day?

3.7s and stall won't be fitted until after the car gets back from Swift.

A Wade 1004 / 114 is in the engine now, so the cam is just sitting there waiting to be chucked in your engine ;) lol

We have a plan on how we can modify the install to accomodate the gas tank, but we have to wait and see what the exact dimensions of the tank are.

Besides, you know what Steve is like, he's already mentioned a couple of times that he's bored of his install and wouldn't mind making new one! lol :P

Cool, I can pick it up on the weekend if he wants or he can bring it to the dyno day or something. I have no plans for more power beforehand.

OMG, changes and changes.

I was wondering what it's current condition was?

I (like many) can't wait to see this going and complete.

Come on Steve, pick up a cheap P/Supply and get back online... But in saying that, it's better ya spend ya time on the EA not chatting to us!! :P

No probs, mate ;)

I doubt very much that it would be ready by next friday, though. :(

Wow, straight gas. What an unexpected surprise. I'll be watching this closely.

Oh and let us know when you're done with the crane. I'll only be using it on private roads mind you.
