Hey guys,
Just bought an AU 2 XR6 VCT tray back ute. See pic, As im new to the world of au's and newer cars in general I have a couple of questions you might be able to help me with. 1. I want to lower it and eventually put 19" F6 dark argents on it. What would be the recomended springs? SL's or SSL's and 1 or 2 inch reset in the back? Any pics of a lowered tray back AU would be appreciated if possible. 2. The 6 stack CD player is rooted and I want to put my own Deck in there. Would it be best to get a standard suround so im not left with a massive hole in the dash? 3. Can an AU 3 pursuit front lip be fitted to a series 2 bar? Are there just cabin side skirts available as well? Again pics would be appreciated. 4. Has a sloppy gear stick, but I think I have the info for that from another thread. Cheers guys. |

Regards to suspension, everyone here will tell u to install super lows (cause it looks sick man). DON'T. King springs make lowered front coils, and also lowered rear leaf springs.
Stereo; Single DIN unit will fit, however will have large hole underneith. So double din is the go if this bothers u. Front lip; ? Sloppy gear stick: Bush in gear box. Install short shift. (Malwood) and remove rubber bush between alloy gear knob and selector mechanism. Good luck. |

You can chuck in a single DIN and buy the pocket for $20 on ebay to fill the gap under it.

As for the front lip and skirts, yes you can put the pursuit lip on your front bar and you can also buy skirts. Try this site here for them http://www.awcinfo.com//secureshop/c....php?cat_id=28
I found with the heavy duty super lows i can to a kanga digger or a loaded car trailer no worrys with ride height issues

Im after a few mods to get this thing movig abit better. The ute already has a 3in sports exhaust but no extractors. Im thinking Competition Pacemaker 4480's and a high flow metal cat?
3.89 diff gears? does anyone have these behind a T5? Im interested to know how the everyday drivability is effected. CAI, who makes a good full CAI setup for a VCT I6? Thanks guys. |

4480's and the cat.
3.9's deffinately. Ive been in a stock AU manual with 3.9's and it was very fun. Bluepower for the airbox.

Thanks monty! Extractors are on order. Can anyone tell me the difference between a 100cpsi cat and a 200cpsi and which would be better suited?

Its the amount of Cells per square inch. 400cpsi is stock, so 200cspi has half the cells in it. The 100cspi cats are half that again, and will not show ANY restriction on a dyno, whilst still being Euro 2 compliant (relatively legal).

Cheers mate. 1 more question for ya, does it matter what size (e.g. 3" or 3.5") I get or can any be adapted to my extractors and exhaust? I think my system is 3 inch.

Re the gear stick. Just becareful when you change the bush. It sits on a rubber that can't be ripped out so approach slowly and it might take some time.

Thanks mate. Already replaced it once but the rubber in the block was fairly rooted. I was hoping it would be ok but its now gone back to pretty much how it was. Ive got a short shifter on the way and will be opening up the box again and replacing the whole block and bush.

If he wants three inch, let him have three inch. Its been proven on here time and time and time and time again that there is NO issue running a three inch with an NA setup, looses NO power, looses NO torque, and there is NO excessive noise issues.
Cat size doesnt matter, as long as the flanges are 3 inch to mate it up to the cat back, and 2.5 to mate it up to the extractors, unless you mod the extractors to be three inch all the way through.
