Ok, silly question...but how does the aerial come off so you can put the car thru a carwash.
Don't want to get too brutral either turning (threaded) or pulling (push-in). |

Very easy to access via the sunroof, if you have one... I did this on Saturday while waiting in the line at the car wash

<offtopic>Not sure about your water laws, but here in SA it is illegal to wash your car with a hose. You're allowed to fill up a bucket and pour that over the car (yep, 9L over each quarter/panel), but you can't use a trigger nozzle for a few seconds.
Haven't been bothered doing that, and my dealer has a car wash out the back and provided some vouchers at time of purchase, so that's been my choice... </offtopic>

Was the same as SA in NSW then allowed handheld trigger nozzle when sanity prevailed, incredible you are allowed to pour bucks load of water over your car and empty the dam doing so BUT using the trigger nozzle..... now thats not logical. Politicians for you

Totally agreed apstar. A few seconds of running the hose vs maybe a minute to fill a bucket, to rinse the same area. Lunacy.
It appears that SA water restrictions will be lifted in December - the same time that our desal plant theoretically comes online - then they've admitted they will be promoting water use (and jacking up the price), to help pay for it. After all the rain we've had our dams are near capacity anyway... *sigh* Sorry for the hijack. Umm, aerial is a RH thread..? ;)

RH thread is a 'normal' thread.
LH thread is commonly found on LPG cylinders. (i.e.screw anti-clockwise to wind in/on) ...accessing aerial thru sunroof beats trying to reach across the roof (I'm somewhat vertically challenged). ...Sunroof (tick)......and lots of other goodies. |
