Default bootlids

im changing my rear end to ed style

now im in process of changing bootlid and found out that the latch on the body is different, has anyone done this conversion?

and does the d latch bolt upto the ea holes or is some drilling required?

***Emergency! Paging Dr InitialD*** (regarding his ED style rear end)

Dunno if this is a post+1 or not, but I think that by making a cut here & there, and making a hole here & there, EB/D tail lights and rear garnish can bolt onto an EA boot & ****-end.

Hope this helps, unless I've misread your post and you actually want to swap the BOOT itself...

ye man, have a big dirty spoiler glued really well, that well it now has crax as we tried to get it off. so gave up :( lol

but ye have an ed bootlid and have a latch and the holes are horizontaly apart. compared to the ea one which had verticaly alligned bolt holes

WHy not try putting the EA latch in the ED bootlid?
I know the ED Garnish wont go straight in, the back of the lid needs mods.

tried that

just not right, the bolts arent long enough the ea latch is fat compared to the ed one which has really thin washer style holes made for it

No, an EA latch won't bolt into an EB bootlid, and vice versa.
Just use the correct latch for the bootlid you are putting on, and change the striker on the back panel. They should be interchangable.

I can't help it... Gloria is hot and I thought of your EA regarding its ED garnish. Guess I got it wrong though as niko pointed out he's doing an actual boot swap.

I'm just in a silly mood coz I've scored project work over the summer! And as a result, (most of) my posts today have been useless...

$550 a week plus $200 a week from my normal job at Coles, from November til March, and getting lifts to work with my old man, and that's not taking into consideration any o/t I might get from Coles. I'm gonna save an arseload of coin! When summer's over I wanna go PD shoppin...

sooooooo off-topic!

Oh, and it's my sister's twenty-onest tonight. Free s****y dinner + grog I'm wrapt... it'll be the perfect echo to yesterday's boganesque chips & UDLs/VBs/homebrew "lunch".

(someone shut me up)

Niko i did this conversion to my mates ea just last week. I put an ed boot lid onto an ea, you need to get an ed striker/latch, drill a hole in the middle of it, and use a rather large bolt to secure it to the body using one of the existing holes, you can then possibly do a few spot welds later on if you dont think its secure enuf. Its confusing to explain online, you dont have to drill into the body....if you need help, gimme a call and i can come ova and show ya.

you'll find all of the boots are heavy, but only when the struts are failing.
