Default XR rear wheel alignment?

A guy at tyrepower told me that not only does the XR series need a front wheel alignment but also a rear wheel one? This guy must be having me on. Ever heard of such a thing?

Is it an IRS XR? Then maybe so.
For regular live axle rwd cars, a 'thrust' alignment is the go, you can't change anything in the rear but you just take it into account as such.

All XRs (sedans) have IRS and therefore DO need rear wheel alignment.

You're lucky you've found someone who knows someting about AUs - go back to him and have the job done.

All VCT 6 XR's and XR8's have IRS. XR6 HP is live axle.

Had mine done a couple of weeks ago. Now tracks straight, doesn't prefer left turns to right ones, and pulls up in a straight line under brakes, and doesn't want to change lanes each time it hits a bump. My front was actually OK - it was the rear that was way out!

I'll 2nd that, I had my first rear wheel alignment done not long after purchase, it was mile out from new, scrubbing the rears. I always have a complete 4 wheel alignment done.

Thanks ... my bad ... I always forget the HP. I suppose right from Day 1 I've actually never seen a reason to have an XR with anything less than a VCT 6 and therefore my mind has subconsciously blocked them out.
