I'd like to say a Volvo 240GL, but that thing was a beast! $500 and it is still going strong to this day - it's on a farm now.
The most embarrassing was a VL Commodore wagon. every now and then it would blow massive plumes of blue smoke. Just like that, out of nowhere. |

Neither of my cars have a great reputation but both have been great cars. There was one time when my EA was hugely embarrassing though, when the self levelling suspension packed up. The compressor jacked the back of the car up to maximum height! I was driving around with about a foot between tyre and guard, and it just bounced over every bump.
Other embarrassing cars I've driven include a Daewoo Nubira station wagon (complete with one of the rattliest engines I've ever heard), and Dad's 89' Rodeo diesel which has a top speed of about 90kph.

A 1979 Chrysler GE Stigma waggon, or maybe it was the 1957 Ford defect Panel van that burnt it's way though 2 pints of oil a day.

1983 GL Cressida. Most unreliable, costly and annoying old car. It was my dads old car and it was always dying. Was alot of fun offroad though

My very first car that i could drive legally; was a 1986 Toyota Celica.
Had rips throughout all seats, nothing $40 'southern cross' seat covers couldn't fix. Massive rust hole in all mufflers, didn't bother to fix them. a slipping clutch/gearbox that would at 100k/ph would go from 5th to neutral and rev to 6000RPM. Only 1 pop up headlight worked, the other stayed down at all times, and lit up behind my front bumper. Smashed indicators. The best thing about it, it was a tank. had about 3 accidents in it where people hit me/i hit them and nothing but a crack in the paint would ever come from it. Although karma came back at me, when i installed the 'full sick' subs, the rear bumper fell off and was dragging at 100k's along the freeway. Since then; - White 1997 VS Commodore - Blue 1994 Toyota Celica - Red 1993 VR Commodore and now. - Orange 2003 BA XR6

The best thing was, you could lower the suspension by just letting some gas out by pressing the gas valve which was like a car tyre valve. |

My camry sportivo is my current entrant. Never ever do I feel cool in it and it is probably the only car that gives me buyers remorse. Thankfully since getting the Fairmont I don't have to drive it very often. Even my column shift XE wagon I had on my P's, complete with immaculate left side and totally scratched and faded right side, XF front bucket seats with no centre console (bench seat broke), 2 inch sports exhaust, headers etc was better.

My current one.
Sick of the ********* in Commodores and other Ford's wanting to drag me off at any time I am driving. Sick of seeing my car, in taxi-version 20 times a day. Sick of the poor quality issues I have been chasing in the damn thing since I bought it. Come September, good riddance.

1986 toyota corolla but was never registered.. Eventually turned into a paddock basher complete with cut off roof, VN commodore springs to lift it up and flame paint job..only lasted one day out bush.
Redeemed myself by getting my first road car. An XF panelvan that was lowered, had mags, extractors and sports exhaust, no badges or side strips, new paint, 15% tint, big stereo etc. All the usual L/P plater mods and one car I wish I had of kept. Only ever falcons after that.

Around 98 I had a Toyota Spacia. My gosh, how awful. I was in that time of life where a people mover was necessary, but a Spacia? What was I thinkg?
