$40 mate, yep its policed, you cant register your vehicle (any) unless it has a current WOF. Will add that new cars/bikes etc only have to have one every 12 months for the 1st 5 years, then it goes out to every 6.

i can understand you being pretty peefed of about the damage. i would be too.

and i can also imagine how the workshop guy felt after the first hit. he was probably cursing himself and the stress levels would have been up which is most likely what caused him to lose concentration leading to the second event.
probably will cost him this weeks wages to fix it,

a bad for everyone.

if that happened to my car and they accepted responsibility straight away i would most definately go back. i have damaged customers cars in the past at workshops i have managed and notified the customer straight away and accepted liability. the customers always came back after that without fail, because after an incident like that and me letting them know and accepting responsibility was reassurance that i was trustworthy and not a fly by nighter.

I just did the regos for both my cars (XY GT and AU3 XR8) a month or two ago and they were $960 each here in QLD for 12 months.

We dont need to get annual roadworthies/WOF/Safety certificates and our Compulsory Third Party is included in that amount, not calculated seperatly like in some states here.

Agreed, I had a brand new VX SS in for its 1500k service, the girl behind the desk asked if she could drive it around to me, I said fine. Anyway she rolled it into a Statesman (she wasnt familiar with a manual) Didnt do a lot of damage but she apologised and said she would get it fixed. Unfortunatly then her manager came out and stated the damage is similiar to stone chips, you are going to get stone chips therefore no point repairing it - thats when I fired up.

End of the day mistakes happen, if the person is willing to fix the problem good on them.

while I think that perhaps there is not a whole lot to fuss about in the OP's case, "do an oil change yourself"?

Yep, I always do, its not rocket science, but many find simple practicalities that dont make it viable. Its a messy job and you need to get rid of the oil too.

My not have a jack that can lift the car safely to get under it etc.

ie you are renting a flat; part of any tenancy is that working on cars in the communal car park is forbidden etc

hundreds of reasons why one cant do it themselves.

As i posted the car had to go the for a WOF,to get that it has to go on the hoist as they inspect the underside of the car, made sense to me that whilst it was up there that i get the oil changed.Sound resonable to you?Never said i was perfect but i am bloody sure if part of my job was putting cars on a hoist then i would make sure the arms were folded back before doing so,its not rocket science really.Expect what you like when your cars at a garage but i expect better,"get over myself" doesnt cut it for me.

i had a similar thing happen to my escort years ago, took it in for a service, got it back with a broken drivers mirror, dent in the drivers door and broken drivers tail light. nothing was said.
didnt realise til it was home.
they did fix it, took their sweet time though, and i never went back.

I had my Fairlane serviced at a Ford dealer years ago and when it came out of their garage, the comms antenna on top of the car was bent flat almost against the roof! I can only guess they raised the car too high on the hoist???

They took it off and put a new one on free of charge.
