bin the fines and get over it.
because of all the road safety hype sprouted by the cops and govco. Plus no member of WAPOL is permitted to be more than 40km/hr over the speed limit unless authorised by VKI under priority driving rules.

I bet you would be saying different if hey had of hit a kid or hit a vehicle killing people, fortunately given the road at Cardanup they didn't do either.

As someone who went to the Cold Chisel concert I can see why they needed to have a police escort. The traffic management plan simply did not exist. It took us over half an hour to get into the parking area before the concert. After the concert it took nearly an hour to get from the parking area out onto the road only to find a traffic jam a few km's down the road. Reason - cops had decided to set up a booze bus on the only road out resulting in a 4km traffic jam. Took us 2 hrs to get from concert to our accomodation some 40km away. Took the edge off an otherwise brilliant concert.

I would have thought cops might stick together and maybe let off at the time .

I'm guessing if they we're escorting the PM or some overseas dignitary this would be a non issue.

This thread provided inspiration for a toon. Unfortunately I got tied up with a few other priorities during the week but the result is here.

Actually it would not because there are exemptions for various situations like this. Military events are another example
.
