Hi Guys,
Coupla rather dull questions for you.. I'd like to know the difference between the AU1 and the AU1.5... and also when the 1.5's started to be sold.. I'm guessing it would be things like the upgraded security and things like that.. ALSO....... Were front electric windows standard fitment on base-model Forte's, or could you specify them as an optional extra? AND.... A lot of AU S1 Forte's were sold with the XLS Grille, alloys and a boot spoiler (fairmont??) to make the car look a little more appealing to the Holden-buying masses - was this an approved Ford scheme, or just the Dealerships wanted to get shot of a paddock full of unsold AU's

Can't help you with the first 2 but it was the dealers who spruced up the later AU1s (ok,1.5s) in a desperate attempt to shift them because they were so butt ugly they weren't moving off the lot before AUII came along.

Heres a list of things that were added as standard equipment to S1.5 Fortes over the S1:
- ABS - Rear suspension height lowered - Front power windows - Smartsheild - Larger brake booster Naturally higher spec models got upgraded as well. And yes, the egg-crate grille was dealer fitted to fortes due to public distaste for the waterfall. The falcon classic got the bootlip, eggcrate & alloys. |
