Thumbs down All is not as well as it seems for Government Motors

The game of funny numbers is up. The new GM is no different to the old GM.

of course they do, maybe not to that extent though.

im sure dealers dont actually need as many demos as what are registered

the difference being is that it appeared gm has used that artificial information as evidence of profitability to get investers to cough up. fraud basically.

The traditional Detroit Car maker recovers by overproducing to keep factory order books
full and then soaking up excess production with big incentives or those attractive 0% leasing plans...

There was a prime example of this in the early 1980s. Holden was under threat of losing having the number 1 selling car in this country which it had held for three decades. At the end of 1981, there were a lot of new Commodores registered which added to the sales numbers only to be deregistered the following month (Jan 1982). Big controversy at that time.

Our forum stats guru (Russell) should be able to confirm this.

Registered at Dandenong. Removed from official figures when VicRoads made noises.
Mind you, Ford were replacing staff lease cars on a 6-week cycle at the time.
All is fair in love and war.
